Itinerary:
Just to the west of Zimbabwe, near Bulawayo is the Hwange National Park. This is a must place to visit in the country, being one of the largest and also oldest game parks of the country The Park covers massive land of about 14,650 square kilometers providing an extensive range of habitat for more animal and plant species.
The Park is famous for holding herds of elephants making it’s the only park in the world with many elephants. The Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and the elephant), brown hyena, the endangered black rhino, and the African wild dogs are some of the animals in the park. For bird lovers, there are more than 400 bird species as noted by the park. The limited rainfall in the parks gives it a unique scenery on the desert woodland comprising of the Zambezi Teak. The park’s environs are well manifested here from the Kalahari Desert. For safari enthusiasts, the park never fails. Inside the park’s boundaries are mosaic woodlands of the Kalahari ranging from grass plains, flood flats, and teak groves entirely peppered by the bulbous termite’s hills and some of the occasional pan (a famous water hole which makes part of a picture-perfect terminus for all the lion stalkers).
