It is a country that has had great success in wildlife conservancy. The main wildlife destinations include, Akagera National Park, Volcanoes National Park and Nyungwe forest national park, each of which hosts different wildlife from the other. Volcanoes National Park is well known for hosting the endangered species, Mountain Gorilla, you will get a chance to go Gorilla trekking and see the gorilla families in their natural habitat. Nyungwe Forest will get you chimpanzee tracking, getting to see chimpanzees habituated to humans by park rangers You would love to have the ultimate game drive experience in Akagera National Park and spot various wild animals. And wouldn’t want to miss fun activities such as hiking, mountain biking, canoeing and canopy walking in these parks.
Tourist activities are not only limited to wildlife; you can visit several other places. Top of the bucket list is the Kigali Genocide Memorial where memories of victims are kept alive through portraits, halls of photographs and artifacts and learn of the dreadful 1994 genocide that left more than 800,000 people dead in 100 days. Visit the museums, get to know about the past and culture of the Rwandese people and get to watch live cultural dance.
