The only Savannah park in Rwanda is Akagera National Park, where game drives are conducted. The greatest way to tour a significant portion of savannah national parks while on safari is through game drives. In the specially designed safari vehicle, i.e. Safari jeeps that are sufficiently comfy while on the safari. The game drives offer chances to see various animals, birds, and stunning landscapes while relaxing in the luxury of specially designed safari vehicles.

If you want a lovely tour in a stunning wildlife setting, Akagera National Park should be on your radar even though Rwanda may not be the ideal African safari destination for wildlife safaris. The big five—elephants, buffaloes, rhinoceroses, leopards, and lions—live in the park. There are also giraffes, zebras, and hippos in the park. The park is a 3-hour drive from Kigali International Airport, the country’s main airport, making it one of the closest wildlife parks to the airport.

East of Rwanda is home to Akagera National Park, which features lovely grasslands and numerous animal sightings when on a game drive. The entire Lake Ihema is contained within the park, giving visitors the chance to go on a boat safari.

The park is home to various mammals, around 500 different bird species, and most recently, the Big 5 — lions, leopards, rhinoceroses, elephants, and cape buffalo. Giraffes, Elephants, Bushbucks, Hippos, Impalas, Topi, Zebras, Buffaloes, and many other animals are among those to keep an eye out for. Although there are animals all around the park, game drives only take place in the northern half of the park due to its topography. The southern gate serves as both an entry and exit to the park.
